1. It is not good to subject an portrait doll to sharp fluctuations of temperatures. Optimum conditions for the doll's maintenance assume the stable temperature mode, without extreme jumps.

2. The high humidity can damage colouring of dolls, a condition of a hairdress, the form of decorative fabrics. Also the high humidity can negatively affects to the dolls made of self-hardening materials. An optimum level of humidity for the maintenance dolls is about 45-50%.

3. It is strictly not recommended to subject a doll to an influence of solar light!!! The fabric of dresses fades, open parts of a body burn out and become colourless. Solar and ultraviolet light can be destructive, especially on the objects having vinyl details. It is better to shine a doll's show-window by the usual lamps, placing them so that dolls were not close to a source of light (lamp emmits a lot of heat, and it is the adverse factor).

4. Refrain from a smoking and do not allow to do it by another in a room, where your collection is placed. The chemical substances containing in cigarette smoke create on dolls a harmful tarry film of brown colour, and sometime is absolutely impossible to remove it. Besides keep in mind, if your collection has real value and you plan to sell it, professional collectors and appraisers usualy refuse the purchases of a doll which has a smell of cigarette smoke.

5. Especially valuable copies one recommends to store behind glass or under a special purpose cower. It will protect a doll from dust and wool influence pets. In any case, from time to time the preventive cleaning will required. Someone uses the big soft electrified synthetic brush for these purposes. Also storage of dolls in the closed glass show-windows or under cowers, will protect your collection from especially active and curious pets. For instance, dogs love to gnaw dolls, cats - to jump on book shelfs, dropping down everything that on them is, hunting thus on small parts and confusing hair.

6. The common truth - TO TOUCH DOLLS ONLY BY CLEAN HANDS, desirable without presence of cosmetic means on them!

7. Regularly to check clothes and a body of dolls on presence of parasites or insects. Many parasites are involved with a dust and a dirt is one more reason to keep doll's collection clean.

8. At transportation and long storage of dolls do not pack them tightly in polyethylene plastic bags. The doll should be aired, and in the tight environment it would be difficult to control humidity.
